Meera Sarathy, Technical Advisor for Field Support, E2A
To provide technical assistance and management to E2A’s field programs, Meera leverages 10 years of experience at the intersection of public health and business to address health disparities around the world—particularly those that affect women and girls.
Meera began her career in global health as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal and developed a passion for health equity and using innovative approaches to achieve public health goals effectively and efficiently. Most recently, Meera worked at Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon, where she provided technical assistance and management to programs to prevent and control cervical cancer in Southern and Eastern Africa. Prior to working with PRRR, Meera worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where she analyzed sustainable financing and economics of vaccine programs; Jhpiego, where she provided knowledge management and research support to the Accelovate project; and Population Services International, where she supported the West and Central Africa region.
Meera holds a Master’s in Public Health and Master’s in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University and a BA from the University of Michigan. She is fluent in French and speaks passable Pulaar.
When asked why she is passionate about expanding access to family planning and reproductive health, Meera says:
“I believe all women deserve access to family planning—even if there is no health facility or provider nearby. That’s why I find the work E2A has done in expanding access to family planning through community-based distributors in rural areas exciting and inspiring.”
