Ginette Hounkanrin, Senior Technical Advisor - Youth, E2A
To provide overall technical leadership in scaling up and documenting adolescent and youth RH/FP programming, Ginette leverages 14 years of post-graduation experience that cuts across clinical medicine and various public health programs in developing countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Ginette has almost 9 years of experience in sexual and reproductive health and rights program management. She began her career as clinician, and after completing the West Africa Health Organization young professionals’ program, she moved to the international development world, where she gained international experience with reputable organizations. Before joining Pathfinder International, she served as Youth Advisor at the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Regional Office. She then served as SRHR program manager, where she provided support and technical assistance for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of integrated FP/RH programs to the West and Central Africa IPPF Members Associations. Ginette has contributed to the development of many technical tools and guidelines, and has a special interest in very young adolescents’ health.
Ginette holds a master’s degree in Population and Health from the University of Ouagadougou and a certificate on Global Adolescent Health from the University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Family planning High Impact Practices Technical Advisory Group. She is fluent in both French and English.
When asked why she is passionate about expanding access to family planning and reproductive health, Ginette says:
